i am a heavy metal drummer, and i didnt use hearing protection when i started so i have a mild case of it. if its really quiet i can hear ringing in my ears
yeah popping and crackign doesnt sound like tinnitus
tinnitus rings.
thank your stars though - once you get tinnitus you usually won't shake it and it gets progressively worse till it drives you mad.
A high percentage of tinitus sufferers in old age kill themselves coz it drives them crazy
Originally posted by angeleyes It comes and goes, but DAMN! It's driving me crazy this time, it feels like "snap", "crackle" and "pop" have moved into my right ear.

Snap crackle pop probably isn't tinnitus. A lot of drugs are "ototoxic". NSAIDs (aspirin, ibuprofen, etc), some antibiotics, birth control pills, antidepressants, and more. Some foods will cause it, also. It doesn't always get worse. If it is permanent and progressive, you can get a little hearing aid like device to mask the noise. Talking in general terms, not about you, Jenn.
