Test sign ups - can I do it?

We have no problem with test signups, just don't get carried away...

I had a guy last week that wanted to get paid on 15 "test" signups from him and some of his friends... which isn't going to happen, but they did all show up in his stats...

nah, I am not that stupid

just wondering if I do a test sign up and the sponsor doesnt allow it ( but how should i know it ? ), then can i have problems with them?

My question is based on the assumption that the sign up goes through, if it doesnt, then the sponsor will have problems

There is no reason why any sponsor would have problem with those, unless they doing something shady. Of course though, you need let them know after the fact that you did a test signup, so they can deduct that sale from the stats.

Some may not allow it because its a hassle to then refund you and modify your stats.
I suggest doing a test signup for a trial but allow them to keep the $4.95 or whatever and them email them to cancel the credit in your stats........if it shows up

Yeah if you do a test you better not expect a refund. Cancelling recurring should be done though.

For the record and nothing to do with the already mentioned companies:

Porncash was allowing test sign ups without any pior notification and i can tell you they were shaving ;-)

is it a PPS sponsor? Chances they shave is very high. Do a test signup not just to see if it gets credited, but to have a look a their members area. No matter how great their marketing skills and upsales/cross sales are if their actual service towards the client sucks big time they'll shave you above the normal %

The logic was to give confidence about their program. Rarely anyone makes test signups and if they do and get caught shaving they could come up with an excuse. On the other hand the average webmaster will say "this sponsor doesnt shave,look they even allow test signups" :-)

Porncash/adstats quited the industry with a lot of millions in the bank heh

SPP doesn't care if you do it, as long as you let us know afterwards so we can deduct it from your payout . . . and as long as you post that we passed ;)

porncash was funny, a signup disappeared right before my eyes once. I complained to them and they told me i was mistaken
