It's just only recently I been posting again. Was out for a couple of months due to surgery and its good to be back again.

Exactly.
But these "rituals" aren't necessarily approved by the Catholic Church. It is in fact prohibited to do so, only thing is it's been "tradition" among the old folklore and it's passed down from generation to generation.

yeah, i've seen some men dragged crosses during Holy Week when i was a kid. their backs would be flogged and they'd scream in pain. scary scene, i tell ya.
