Got to be honest and say this guy has a cheek.

Tells me he will not buy from me and then asks for my advice. :j:

Paul,

First of all, I just viewed your work for the first time and I like what I see. I stumble across your site through the netpond messageboards.

I am also a photographer. I am jumping in the internet softcore porn business. However, I plan on producing all of the content for my future paysites. I am building content as we speak.

I am hoping you can help me out by answering some questions. I will gladly return the favor if I can.

1. Where do you find your models?
I recognize a few but some I have never seen before. I would like to shoot a few for my conent.

2. How much do you pay the models?
What is the standard rate, do you ever get "trades".

I am in Southern California. If you know of any models who canwork cheaply or free, please let me know.

How about you tell me how to run a paysite in two years time and I will buy
nothing from you?

Fisrtly we are in Czech, so the models will not be coming to you.

Secondly how I pay models is my business not yours and my rates would not
apply to you in So Cal.

yeah, I think perhaps you could have handled that a bit differently..
if it were me, I would have thanked him for the compliment.. patted him on head and sent him on his way with no information..

I mean after all.. he was asking very innapropriate questions.. much the same way a child would.. I don't blame people for being childish.. but I don't like to encourage it either.

One more thing I'd like to add

When you're faced with a situation that makes you angry or annoyed .. and you don't want to just ignore it.. I think it's best to ask yourself, "how can I best profit from this?"

I've fallen back on this idea many times when dealing with difficult people, and asking myself that question always proved to be a good way to decide on how to handle things.

There are times when I've been tempted to sling mud back at someone who just did the same to me.. then I think.. how can I come out on top here?.. slinging mud back is almost never the right answer, because then I loose too.

You are a long way from making money in Internet porn and would be better
off buying content in the beginning.

good enough will make your whole venture a loser.

He's actually written back and said I was right and thanked me for my honsty. I think we are sometimes a little too nice to new guys, which makes it al look very easy.

this is good

You know, in my design business we offer consultation, and I get a lot of newbies coming to me asking to pay me for essentially setting up their business and telling them how to run it. I don't accept many of these types of clients and usually give them a lecture and send them on their way. Making money is cool.. but being able to sleep at night is cooler.

Actually being this way has made my business much more profitible in the long run.
