Didn't miss your point at all..you said there is a "growing conservative population" that is not comfortable with gays in many different areas.
I disagree that there is a "growing" # of conservatives, but I agree that there are a lot.
And you can't dismiss the fact that when blacks started showing up on television and moving into the suburbs, that racist whites weren't saying/thinking the same thing that some people today say/think about gays.
