    Who else hates Harry Potter

    I hate Harry Potter. I hate Harry Potter books and Harry Potter movies. I hate anything to do with the little four-eyed fuck.

    Fucking kids on broomsticks.

    Who else hates this shit with a passion?

              dude.. you really need to read the books.. for once this is not about marketing or hype, the reason it's so big is because of the quality of the storytelling and the success of the books.

              Sure they're meant for older children, but it's a testiment to their quality that so many adults can enjoy them.

                  Agreed. The books are good stuff. Besides how I personally feel about them, it's kinda hard to hate something that got so many kids to read.

                                  look I'm even kinda embarrassed to talk about it especially on a forum full of 18 year old keyboard warriors.. but anyone who's read them knows whats going on... my girlfriend went on and on about them and she eventually got me to read prisoner of azkaban after draggin me along to the first two movies.. I'm seriously fucking hooked. i read 4 and 5 within 2 weeks of POA. I'm going to go back and read 1 & 2.. sure.. it's no great post-modern pop culture referencing hip bunch of tomes, but thats probably part of the charm and there is just some indefinable quality in the storytelling that hooks you, even if at points the fact that they aren't written for adults sometimes shines through.
                                  shes certainly the Enid Blyton of the late 90's who was someone *I* read as a youngin'.

                                          Until I saw the first movie a few years back on HBO I thought it was stupid.

                                          But I got hooked after that then I started reading the books. Its good storytelling and it isn't bad at all...

                                                                                                                  cheesy predictable nonsense aimed at people too young to recognize a cliche.
                                                                                                                  But if kids are reading anything that's a step in the right direction.
                                                                                                                  (too bad it's not something more substantive)

                                                                                                                  I do like that it seems to annoy the christians.
