    Battery LIfes on Mini DV Camcorders.

    I ordered a Sony one with extra battery

    Any idea in general how many minutes you can shoot on one battery ?

      The sony infolithium batteries are great. Battery life will be dependant on how its used with or without lcd with the light if it has one etc... But the sony batteries last the longest from what Ive found.

                  You can pick up battery belts and so on for some real extended life.

                      A good rule of thumb is to have a minumum of three batteries and a charger.

                      Once the first battery dies, snap in the second and start recharging the first battery. By the time you have used up the third battery, the first battery will be recharged.

                      I once did 18 scenes in two days that way, although I usually carry more batteries to cover any situation.
