Aside from the already mentioned fact that the main reason France sided with the colonies was to gang up on Britain, France did not contribute significant military aid until 1778, 3 years after fighting had begun. France did not openly support the Americans until after the Americans had already proved they meant business and had a chance. Additionally, Spain and the Netherlands also aided the Americans, so for anyone to say that without France we wouldn't exist is a pretty exagerrated statement.
To even compare that to the American liberation of France during WW2 is a joke. Helping out after some else has done most of the work is completely different than pushing all enemy forces out of a country that basically rolled over and gave half their country to the enemy and only resistance was blowing up a few train tracks and mainly helping other soldiers from other countries do their work.
So yes, the French are still pussies. They'll fight if they think it's a cake walk, but when push comes to shove they're far from the front lines.
Lastly anyone thinking that France did not support the war in Iraq because they didn't think it was right, you need to think again. The main reason they stayed out was FEAR. Fear of public opinion, fear of casualties, and most likely a huge fear of terrorism from their large North African and Arab population that they have little control over.

you need to check your facts. the US supported Britain and the other allied countries with 10's of 1000's of thousands of tons of aid and god only knows how much oil and other supplies BEFORE they got into the war. They lost countless merchant marine ships in the Atlantic and 1000's died sending supplies to Europe to support those fighting Germany.
Why would Americans be pussies for not jumping right in and fighting a war on another continent between other countries? Does that mean everyone in Iceland a bunch of pussies? Why doesn't France go to Iraq and fight?... simple... it's always politics.Comment
