I haven't invested in RRSPs yet, am I a fool?

The man on the radio said that men typically use RRSPs in a temporary way, to avoid certain interest and taxes in the short term but not for retirement. Women usually put money into RRSPs as part of their retirement plan (I guess the way it was meant to be used).

I just feel like I'll either have money or not by the time I'm at retirement age (and I doubt I'll ever completely retire now that the internet allows you to work at basically any age). Is putting a couple of bucks into an RRSP as part of a "retirement plan" really worth it?
