He paid her for the shoots, I'm assuming with a model agreement, so he can do whatever he wants with the content. He could have had $3500 with no further work. Now he has to put more time into it and try to get more than $3500 back from it.
When you are doing a solo site with a girl and paying her by the shoot, where is her incentive to stay exclusive unless you are paying her a good amount per month or per shoot? I mean more than she would get just working. What was her incentive to do an exlusive deal? Steady work? She could have had that anyway, she's good looking and photogenic.
These are just things you need to think about for future sites. You can find another girl easily. Just make sure you get her locked down non compete, exclusive, whatever you do with solo site models.
