i was diagnosed when I was 11 and again when I was 24....fucking total bullshit..i was pumped fill of meds as a kid, and they tried to get me to do it again later in life..all because i couldn't sit still and wanted to do my own thing
all it took was me finding things in my life that matched my personality and that i loved doing...i am still scatterbrained, but isn't everyone?
anyone who falls into that adhd bullshit is a fucking idiot...sorry if I offended you, but this adhd "epidemic" is nothing more than pharmaceutical companies wanting money and doctors/parents wanting an EASY way out of dealing with children
"They made a list of the most common symptoms of emotional discomfiture of children; those which bother teachers and parents most, and in a stroke that could not be more devoid of science or Hippocratic motive--termed them a 'disease.' Twenty five years of research, not deserving of the term 'research.,' has failed to validate ADD/ADHD as a disease. Tragically--the "epidemic" having grown from 500 thousand in 1985 to between 5 and 7 million today--this remains the state of the 'science' of ADHD."
and let me add, now that I found a career path, and hobbies, that I love doing, i have NO troubles staying focused...yeah, i may have 30 projects going on at once beccause of my personality...i am still happy
and when I feel antsy from one thing, i move on to the next until the other thing needs more work

Indeed. I also suspect that television and video games play a major part in it. How the hell is a kid supposed to sit still and listen to some boring teacher on Monday when he spent the entire weekend playing Halo 2? Your brain reacts to stimulation, and video games and TV constantly change what they're feeding your brain, every couple seconds. So, your brain is constantly in a state of hyper activity. No wonder kids can't sit still.
Rich's home cure for ADD/ADHD: 1 part hammer, 1 part television set.
Drugging kids to calm them down is far from a good solution. Our countries are turning into A Brave New World faster than Huxley could've ever imagined.

Yeah, even though I titled the thread "adult add", I never in a thousand years would consider myself to have it, or any other manufactured disorders that you see on TV. I figured "adult add" would have gotten more page views than "having trouble focusing"

my solution is usually find something to do (inside or outside) that is the total opposite to what you normally do
