Search is the most taxing function a website can run. Unfortunately Lensman doesn't think GFY is a big enough money maker to be sporting a 3ghz proccessor or 2gigs of ram or 2 raid0 SCSI HD's or a 800mhz front side bus or.... the list goes on... If GFY is making his business even 5k a month then I'd think that investing in a $7,000 server would be worth it since I'd see more ads if I could search for shit.

I also thought about the GFY boycott idea till the search is up again.
But officially proposing it would only get me banned.

Fact is that i post less here and the board lost for me 75% of its value sicne the search function doesn't work.

I hope it gets sorted out soon...i mean i could even pay a small fee for it, but it'a a crucial board feature for me and many others.

Lensman responded the other day to one of them.... said that they're working on a new search. I guess that it will be more secure and less server intensive.

As it stands now... you either get a working search or a working message board. You can't have both... until they get the new search script done.

are you kidding me - this board makes lensman millions.

think about it, there are at least 30 sponsors that spend at least 1k/month on advertising - many spend a lot more...
