Why do female sales reps talk to me like I'm their boyfriend?

Just curious, does that help to bring in new webmasters? I was contacted by 2 sales reps today. ANd both started with stuff like

Hi Honey, this is blbalbal from blabla, then I ask some questions, and they can't answer them. Then I say okay, well I need to know bye bye, no time for this then, they say I;m very sorry love, I will do my best with my breast to get answers asap from our techninal department hihi...

because the owners of that business feel.. (*and I know this for a fact) that if they girl talks sexy and comes onto the webmasters.. they feel that he is too hung up on the fact a hot girl likes him that he will stick with the company.

Its all about sex guys and you know it... we use it to sell to the surfer.. and we do it to ourselves.

speaking as a woman..I would never assume to use those adjectives unless we had some working history and it felt right...I am looking for sales not boyfriends..I have enough trouble with the one I have. However men call me hun and sweetie all the time and i am no hun...sweetcheeks maybe but not hun so is this a double standard?

I had a popular content company phone me a while back. When I told them I was not interested, the male salesman made a comment about 'no wonder women are useless in this business.'

I buy a lot of stuff these days as we grow.
You can bet that company will NEVER see a dime from either me, nor anyone I do business with.

My icq handle does not indicate whether I am male or female. I find that this avoids a lot of bullshit, because people assume that I'm a guy. Now if they'd only stop calling me 'Sir'.

All I know is I am a female sales rep and more.. and I never do that shit. I don't go around talking to my non industry friends like that, and I don't want to do it in the industry either.

My take is that a lot of girls read the boards and see how people talk to eachother (it's done on here all the time) and think that is going to get traffic, and they try and be your best friend, talk all cute and you guys fall over them.

It must work if they keep doing it!
