They normally have a pretty obvious thread title and are ez to avoid.
I HATE the ones that pay $X for 1 million posts etc., so I know not to click on them.
I check about 3% of threads on the board...

Noone spends time posting in them, they all have setup 10-15 accounts on bots that spider the forum watching the post count, when it hits 20 to prize they all post like crazy, meanwhile theres another 50 accounts created that just post a worthless message to get it to the prize spot.
What's amazing is that noone has figured out how to remove these bots, as all you have to do is img src a sig and you can view your logs to find all the bots spidering
the thread lol, some even clue you in on whats really going on and who's really winning all the prizes

I must agree that there are too many contests in GFY, and I have some balm in it as well.
But you need to understand that this is the biggest webmaster board out there, and due to that there are many affiliate programs that would like to post their announcements over this board. About 3-4 years ago when we started buying advertising spots in this board there were only 15 ? 20 spots in the top banner, so if you had an announcement, you could post it in the banner and everyone could see it. These days the rotation is between 70 banners, so no one can see it any more.
Now let?s talk about today, PussyCash has uploaded a new campaign that most webmaster will benefit from knowing about it. The only way for us to make sure that webmasters will know about it, is by posting a contest, and making sure that our announcement will stay up on the first page.
If you have a different idea on how to do it, I?ll be more then happy to hear about it.
