Well unless you are super strapped for cash it shouldn't be a big deal either way. The rotors aren't that expensive.

If the budget is tight you can throw a set of pads on there yourself (provided the rotors arent broken down to nothing). They will get chewed up pretty fast but depending on how much you drive could last you a month or 2. I have a cheap friend that does that all the time. The problem is by the time you get to your second or third set of pads it would have been more cost effective to get it done right the first time.
