Not going to happen for me but I have a plan for a working retirement.....

I used to live on Victoria Island, Lagos. Trick is to buy secret service as your entourage. It also means you have no need to go through airport security (making for a quick getaway if you need it).

Seriously, no one from the first world could ever imagine what it's like arriving, living, and leaving a place like Nigeria. Along the roads there are blocks every few minutes (wood across the road studded with nails and military with ak47s assault rifles.) If the natives dont car jack you, or political extremists dont grenage you, then you have to deal with the military which can be twice as scary. Yea we had reasonable security when we were there. I didn't cue for customs at the Airport just got walked through. Don't know if the guards we had were secret service but they were pretty well armed...

I went to VI quite a few times when I was there, stayed on Ikoyi.
