Everyone thinks that living here is cheaper that the US, it's not. It averages out to be about the same. If you can find a place on the beach to live, it's great! Aug.- Nov. is hurricane season, so the water tends to be a bit rough. Last year they evacuated anyone who lived within a mile from the beach, only for a day though
Anykind of food you want is here pretty much...and there is tons of shopping
Most people that come here on vacation just stay in the hotel zone and never get to see the real Cancun, that is where you find the good stuff and bargains. But you also have to see the buildings that aren't in too good of shape, all the stray dogs, etc....
