Keep in mind that many people use "whois.TLD" (replace TLD with the domain extension in question )to find the Whois information for non-.com/.net domains. Especially for country code domains. Personally, I use Whois.us to find ownership information on .US domains - since I can't find this at whois.sc, my favorite whois site.
I now naturally enter whois + the country code when looking up country code domains.
