Theoretically speaking the idea of Multi Media based presentations with Video, QuickTime, VRML, and various interactive mediums were a flop.
The internet has gone through Multi Media based campaigns already and much to my own surprise form and function was the dominant result over "Cool" or "Interactive".
People want what they are looking for in as few clicks as possible and the same rules apply as they did even 5 years ago.

WMV is still fucked on my Win2000 box. Right click > Save As works fine, but just hitting play errors.
Flash works beautifully though & I see you have that option covered.

I've seen more and more flash presentations being implemented into adult site tours. It's coming.
The reason wmv or mpeg files aren't being used is that there's just no guarantee that your user has the latest version of those players, and the file sizes are just too darn big.
Flash can be a very effective file size sensitive medium through the use of moving masked images and animated text, along with the inclusion of audio.
A 200kb flash file which will actually load quickly can be just as effective if not more than a 1MB video clip.
Very groovy idea though.
