What if there was a webmaster affiliate program that you could promote without loosing your traffic to that affiliate program?

We give you the drm'ed files which you put in your site(requires code) and when consumer clicks on the advertisement,the trailer plays then instead of popping out to our site,it pops up a buy page in the licence window of the file where you can put in creditcard and purchase right there and then. So the idea is that you can promote our full lenght movies pay-per-view and have them sold on your site without loosing your traffic to us.How does that sound?

True, but with all the popup blockers and the new IE that won't be that effective. With DRM in place, the key is to selling the file right then and there while retaining the user at the site if decides to exit out. To me, this doesn't sound like a bad idea at all. I don't think johnvod is trying to patent the idea of a popup, but rather the the drm mechanism used on a site in this manner. Take this example, guy walks into 7 eleven, buys a drink, before he gets to the counter, decides to pick up a pack of gum (drm file) and does his other purchase. Don't think its that hard to understand... consider it a mini-template site with no hassle. my

A user browses through some videos, downloads it and before he plays it must first purchase it through the actual video player ? The video file is DRM encoded to expire in a month and all you'd need to do is pass an affiliate code through the join form. Not too difficult.

Your idea just takes it to the next step and lets anyone link to those videos, right ? Or am I off base?
