Metallica takes a lot of flack for their new stuff, but the newest Megadeth album wasn't so shit hot either. Not bad though, just not up to the standards of their older stuff like Peace Sells, etc.

When would the Mustaine era be? He was kicked out before the first album was even recorded and although some songs on Kill Em All and Ride the Lightning (most notably Jump in the Fire and Call of Cthulu) were co-written by Mustaine, they were hardly "stold". Dave was given full credit. Anyhow, I think it's obvious Hetfield will always be the *the* driving force in Metallica (and one hell of a rhythm guitarist).Originally posted by Doc911

Mustaine never recorded with Metallica. He was booted out right after the contract with Metalforce/Blade and replaced with Kirk Hammett who was playing with Exodus at the time.Originally posted by Doc911

For example, when what's his face died or got kicked out (not a big Metallica fan, was sued by them during the Napster thing and I think they're too full of themselves) Les Claypool of Primus (one of the top 5 bassists alive) auditioned for them and they didn't take them. Hetfield actually said "he is too good."Comment
