You do get it. But I think people looking for a forum are slightly different than people looking for TGPs.
TGPs are easily found. Surfer goes, surfer lurks, if you're lucky, surfer clicks.
If you're really lucky, surfer buys.
Surfer forums are a bit different in that once the surfer is there, not only can he go clicky clicky on galleries or pic posts, he can interact with others and find "the best" porn. Other surfers have given their reviews and so forth, so hey, why not go off of the reviews? If the surfer likes something, he'll tell everyone else about it. I would think that perhaps the join rate might be a bit better off of a forum.
Thing to guard against, though, is password trading. If you have a forum, disable private messaging and ban anyone giving out a password. Share the free shit amongst your board and leave it at that. I would think that someone would have already done a quick study on this to see if a forum helps sales.
