Woman shot during dispute over $3

A 34-year-old Shreveport woman was shot during a fight over $3 Tuesday night, according to police.
Falanda Fox began fighting with a neighbor just before 8 p.m. in front of a house in the 400 block of East 72nd Street about $3 she said she was owed for doing the neighbor?s daughter?s hair a few days earlier, Shreveport police Detective Shawn Hinderberger said.
When the neighbors told Fox to leave, she allegedly started screaming, ?I?ll get you, I?ll get you,? Hinderberger said.
Fox allegedly walked a few doors down to her house and got a handgun and brought it back to the neighbor?s house, Hinderberger said.
After threatening the family and pointing the gun at them, Tommy Stringer, 31, of Shreveport told police he fired one shot at Fox to protect his family. ?He said his nieces and nephews were down there and he said ?I thought she fixing to kill us.?? Fox?s gun was not loaded, Hinderberger said.
Fox was struck once in the left calf. She was taken to LSU Hospital in Shreveport with a wound authorities believed was not life-threatening.
Police deemed the shooting justified, and Stringer did not want to press charges against Fox, Hinderberger said.
