Don't EVER Hire Qman for Designs... Seriously!

As some of you may know, I've been waiting for 10 templates for close to 3 weeks now. He gave a song and dance about how his computer was acting up and couldn't connect to the internet and what not. Anyway, today... we receive a file with our templates and this is the biggest steaming pile of shit I've ever purchased. There is no doubt in my mind that he banged out these turds within 1 hour and just didn't give a shit about quality.

So please, avoid this person like the plague. I'm sure when the smoke clears, he'll be sticking his face around trying to gather up more business... but I will make sure I try to hit any thread he's in to remind people as to what kind of scumbag he really is.

I remember seeing the earlier thread about this, i already got him on my ever-growing shitlist.

SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60. Let me repeat... A 120 x 60 button and no more that 3 lines of DEFAULT SIZE AND COLOR text.

Cause this business is filled with n00bs who want to make a quick buck. Who is this Qman anyway? Never heard of him, only thing I see is thread about how he fucked up. People should think twice before they just go with someone flowing the lowest prices and pay them upfront without knowing them at all imo.

People like him fuck it up for other designers who want to enter the game, too bad.

Quick update... he contacted me on icq and just refunded me $90 (I paid $150). While I appreciate that gesture, I told him I would have rather had his quality work. However, at least the guy did something for me. I still lost money because none of these designs will ever see daylight, but at this point recouping anything is a winning situation.

So, would I ever hire him again? No.
Did he fuck me? Yes... but at least he put on vaseline.

Losing $60 is better than losing $150, I guess.

true i have fucked it up so the refund was in order. And not because there is a thread like this because i didn't even know there was this thread. it was just because i don't want to fuck him and if he is not happy then i want to work it out. And yes i made designs that people are happy with, very happy i can say. Now i offered him also a free pay site design. He didn't take it and i respect that.

So i fucked up on this order. Sorry again. but i am not fucking people for a quick bug.

Sure there are lowbudget designers out there who do an excellent job, I think I run very reasonable prices myself. But I can't understand people who think they can get the best for the lowest price. They want to have a paysite, they want to make 10's of thousands but they don't want to pay for it.

Think people, this is a business after all. You can't expect to be in the front row for a penny (or something like that lol) ;)))

Well... as I stated earlier, I am very appreciative that you refunded more than 50% but it wasn't about the money. Losing $150 wasn't going to kill me. I really wanted your designs because I like what I saw and you seemed sincere when we were setting up the deal. However, once you got the money things went south quickly. You lost contact with me and only seemed to pop up when your name was called out on the board. That, I didn't like.

You do good work with designs, but you dropped the ball with me big time. But, that's in the past now. However, I do appreciate the offer of a free design but can you blame me for passing when you couldn't even fulfill a paid order for me? I never wanted anything more than what I paid for... and what you promised you would deliver.

I agree... the cheapest rarely means the best, but then there's times that quality designers come around and offer specials to bring in new business. I looked at his work and liked it.

Also, we have a staff designer but this guy is overloaded with work so I wanted to spread it out a bit and bring in some new templates from a fresh designer. I told Qman up front that I didn't "need" these designs as a life or death thing, but since I liked his work I wanted to have some of his designs.

So anyway, at first he wanted $20 a design. I told him that I was looking for something clean and easy. All the thumbs could be the same design so, in essence, he was really just making a new logo/header and changing the color schemes for the picture galleries and same with the movie galleries. For that, he knocked the price down to $15 a gallery. Sure, it's not the most expensive... but it's also not rock bottom pricing either.

As a business, we're not afraid to spend money. However, we still like to seek out deals... even when we deal with the big boys. Everything is negotiable in this business. No one's rates are set in stone once bulk comes into play (and bulk for you may be different than bulk to someone else).

well, some of them aren't all THAT bad considering it was 8 of them for 150. however. The headers on them are fairly heavy for what they really are, a 5 minute job.

With a bit of editing you could probably use some of these.

Eros seems to do good work. dunno if he still takes orders though. Might wanna talk to him to get some more usable ones done up.

I am not blaming you for getting good prices on bulk orders, ofcourse I make special prices with huge discounts for bulk orders too. I just think people should do a background check when they do an order (allthough this was a pretty small order). If there is no background then don't pay it all upfront, half is reasonable so there is atleast some safety when the guy fucks it up.
