You are asking the United States to endorse something that the majority of its citizens have voted against. That doesn't sound right!
The majority has spoken. If the U.N. doesn't like it, they can leave. Same for you.

I absolutely agree. The US has no obligation to follow any international conventions - as long as they don't sign it.
If you don't want to hear "liberal pussies" complain that the US is in violation of legislation - such as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (which describes how a goverment is to treat it's own citizens), the Geneva Conventions (which describe how a government treats citizens of other countries), the Bretton Woods Agreement (international economic order), several WTO rulings (the administration of the new international economic order) - then your presidents shouldn't sit down and sign these agreements.
I should have broken that up into more than one sentence.
