toplists are good sources of traffic for me at the moment in mainstream so i dont see why they wont work similarily for your own niche ... good luck man
Top lists were fairly big about 4 to 5 years ago, but then all the pedo & beasty stuff started hitting them, and most of the webmasters running them either didn't want to deal with it anymore, or just didn't give a shit, so they started fading out.
I run 3 toplists now in adult, and one in mainstream...they are good for pushing traffic around, and you can make money off of them. Make sure you are able to build enough sites yourself to add to them though, submits from outsiders can be few and far between at times.

The prod should be awsome.
At least one would think so.
I have a small network of niche toplists. I use them basically as traffic feeders to some "mock" free sites.
The toplist game is even more teeming with clever cheaters than TGP. Toplists are good for cornering a small niche, but won't really bring you impressive signups unless you seed them with your own sites, and even then you'd need a sizable network of them to do any damage.
If you're trying to corner a smaller niche, or infiltrate a new niche, toplists will assist for that, but hopefully you've got other ideas too...
Toplists are good. Feed them 404 traffic and stuff like that. I'd suggest that you not allow submissions and only list your sites and the sites of people you know. It's not uncommon for some fucktard to load one up with shit overnight.
I've got a new little spanking toplist that I've been playing with for a couple of months. I don't expect great things from it, but it's a handy way to shuffle traffic around between my sites and pick up some bonus hits in the process. Well worth doing.
