The sad part is, he wont get the death penalty, He is like grandfathered in, since the crime happened when Kansas did not use the death penalty.
I also believe for he wanted to be caught, since he was leaving so many clues these last few months. The big question is why did he want to be caught, and I can think of 2 reasons.
1 He is getting old and doesn't want to die with the murders on his mind.
or
2 He wanted to have all the media attention, and for people to know it was him before he died, to continue his sick way of thinking....
