but if they didnt know about the Eartquake they would just think it's a big wave.

THere is a true story about an Australian dude, who surfed the whole fucking tsunami, no joke, it's the truth. He saw it coming, was out in the water and rode that fucker right into town. Funny shit in an otherwise miserable catastrophe, but I couldnt help smile when I read about the aussie surfer.

Thats actually rather believable. Considering the shore line receeds a few hundred feet a few minutes before the wave hits, due to water displacement.

A surfer on the water would get sucked back with the shore line. What else could you do besides ride it back. Crazy.
