"In a cross between spyware and spam, users received an IM from someone on their buddy list with a link and the caption "Osama found." Those who clicked on the link were forwarded to a fake news site, which in turn prompted them to agree to having some "news" software installed on their computer. Unless they carefully read the license agreement for this software (as very few people often do), users would not be aware that if installed, the program would in turn send instant messages to everyone on their buddy list about Osama being found, starting the process over again. Meanwhile, the "news" site would receive a massive number of hits and, presumably, advertising revenues."
woah..
