So I'm about to get my first listing on the Hun...

And I just know it's going to go like this...

a shit load of visitors, no sales, a nice big bill for overage from Webair.

Am I just being pesimistic or is that pretty much the deal? Anyone got any suggestions on how I can make it turn out different or am I in the hands of the Gods?

you never know... some galleries strike out others hit a home run.. all depends on the gallery and placment i have had the best luck when placed in the bottom 10 galleries for that day!

We do well with the Hun. We ran 10 paid TGP listings last month, and 5 paid MGP's this month. It's worth it for us.

too many variables to say what will happen for sure.
IF you are worried about the bw bill why would you submit to him in the first place?
You sem to have have already assumed the worst and havent even been listed yet. Not a good sign imho.

if you really want some pointers or help post a link to the gallery and people here will help you disect it, That will help you hone your skills and hopefully allow you to turn a profit of one of those listings.

that may just work. thehun is hit and miss. u will either do terrible or great. no in between im afraid. but that all depends on your niche which i havent tried. however, i do know one thing. movies work much better than pics on thehun. then again, they burn a gazzilion times the bw.

You should do fine, my only comment (and it is very minor) is that I personally wouldn't have done the graphical background.

SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, then you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60.

Actually, that was my living arrangement last year, I lived right off Kalanianaole. Right now I am in Michigan for the time being, then Europe, then back in Hawaii in late August. If you have ICQ hit me up, 72458277, we can plan a Hawaii webmaster dinner or something in the fall.

Why would you even submit a page to a site that you have no faith in? You should be happy that you got listed and learn from the listing. It'll either be hit or miss, and you'l learn how to tweak your design/content for the next time.

If you don't like the results, don't submit there ever again. It'll open a spot for somebody who'd like to utilize it.

I've never had the Quesadillas, the ribs are good sometimes, but I usually get Huli Huli Chicken. As far as the Europe thing goes, I am going to try to make it to teh U.K., but I don't know if I'll have time. My original plan was to go for two months and visit a couple dozen countries, but now it looks like I'll only be able to make it there for a month tops and visit a handful of countries, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, France, Russia and Romania. It'll be interesting to see how many places on my list I'll actually haave time to go to though.

You may of missed my point in posting. It's not that I have NO faith in the hun, I just don't have BLIND faith in the hun. I realise that there are two possible outcomes to the excercise, and since this is still very early days for me, it's just that, an excercise. I'm testing as many things as I can including niches, tgp's, link lists, hubs etc, etc.

I'm posting here to get some feedback from plenty more knowledgable guys than me.

Thanks for your response though, it's all useful.

Depends what you are trying to sell. The average Hun surfer has been around for a good long while.. and knows there is a lot of free porn out there.

To really make money you have to sell every surfer on THAT girl or whatever.

At least that is what works for me.
