    You Americans make me laugh my ass off!

    Why is it that whenever I meet Amercians, they ask me one or all of the following questions about Canadians:

    1. Do you ride a dogsled to work?
    2. Why do you say "aboot" instead of about?
    3. Do you guys have Mountied police officers everywhere ?(although we do some places)
    4. I heard its so cold that you have to wear Parkas, and Moccasins in the winter time. Is that true?
    5. Do you live in igloos?
    6. Do you see beavers living in our backyard?

    Everytime I meet an American they ask me about one of those things....Do they teach you about Canada in school over there? Or the climate and geography of the different provinces?

                  They dont teach us anything in school, we learn from tv and the movies. Maybe your Government should do some Canadian fact commericals in America.

                          The only geography they teach in school these days is that there are dragons in all countries other than America. Stay in America and stay safe.. don't worry about the rest of the world, it's all evil and dragon-filled.

                                  I heard in Washington they don't even teach world geography. It is just US geography.

                                                                                      I have a theory... about the climate misunderstanding, anyways.

                                                                                      I, like many other nucks, see the tide of yank vehicles coming north every summer, usually with skis (!!) strapped to their roofs... and yes, occasionally the odd snowmobile on a trailer. They invariably look confused when they get here.

                                                                                      My theory is based on watching an american city's local weather guy. On his map, the US temps are all in Fahrenheit. On the Canadian side, they're all in Celsius. So anyone looking at the map and not aware of metric (like a good portion of the US, probably) thinks that Canada is ALWAYS below freezing, except in particularly hot months... and that by crossing the border on a typical spring/early summer day you'll drop 50+ degrees (going from 72 to 20) as soon as you get out of customs.

                                                                                      I also theorize that beer down there is so crappy because of the wide availability of firearms... you can't get into a serious shootout when you're forced to go to the washroom every 5 minutes, and by the time you get back you've already sobered up from what little inebriation you've built up.

                                                                                                  Not true, I grew up Washington and we had Pacific Northwest History, US History and World History/Geography. But we also learned that we could drive a short ways to BC and drink at a much earlier age, so some of us considered that our Canadian history
