We gave up on tours and just let the user browser a fully functional member's area with no access to the content. 1. Because designing tours was lame and time consuming. 2. Tours suck.

and yes, Ive known people to do away with tours as well. Have worked with some companies that decided to do that ;)

People are too stuck in routines to actually "think" - and those that DO - yield a greater reward.

what bugs my nuts is when an owner (usually clueless) of a site puts in their about a tour, members section shit even content, makes you change it (even after a lenghty cordial conversation about the pros and cons of why not to change it) it looks like shit and you cant use anything for your portfolio, plus it not getting members because of the stupidity of a know it all owner.

then the bitch has the balls to complain about low memberships and low page views .... then doesnt acknowledge - after a tour and members are redone the right way - that memberships are up due to rediesign but something else which makes no sense.

i'd rather stare at some Ides balls

Its funny, I belong to _1_ site. I've had the membership for years 'lifetime membership'. I login every once in a while to see if they've updated it. Nope.
