On the question of IP checking though, I post from a lot of IPs... home, school, going to be out of the country this week, friends' houses... I understand the principle but it would be hard to regulate properly.Comment

yeah i can see how that would be messed up for people who travel around.. good pointOriginally posted by stephthegeek

Also consider that some of the girls may have dynamic ips. The subnet would be the same or similar, but in our case we have cable AND dsl, so those are obviously seperate ip banks yet the computers are 3 feet apart.
And then those that are are dial-up will also have a different ip every time they log on.

Not only that.. but I know my ip gets changed all the time. I have power outs and whatnot that knock out my dsl, and I'm not on a static ip. It could cause difficulties. That and the hubby and myself both post from the same ip, so that would probably cause trouble :POriginally posted by stephthegeek

There have already been a host of good reasons why checking IPs wouldn't work, but I don't think there's much need anyways. You can hire whoever you want...there's no catching up with ladies who have been here for years & have post counts over 10K.
Just have fun!

Nothing to do with greed. We had to get dsl when we moved into the new office because cable was unavailable. We upped the speed to a 6mb connection to satisfy the drain spread out over all the computers. As soon as cable became available we got it as well. Problem is there is now a cap on the up-speed on the cable line so we kept the dsl for the speed.Originally posted by NaughtyJenn
