I'm running a Sony LCD projector with 120" screen. Acoustic Research for all my speakers and woofer's, then a 18" JBL studio bass with an 850 watt amp. The 18" studio bass sounds kinda hokey, but don't knock it til you try it. For $1k you aren't going to get near it for accuracy and feel in the home theater market. HK head unit, all digital, and old school carver tube amps (can't seem to let go of them ... so warm).
My home theater has been in the works 2 years, figuring out what i like, what i don't like and getting everything placed properly. now i'm ordering up a set of 10 home theater recliners and getting the basement beautified
