    Say goodbye, Geordie.

Geordie is 19 years old and is no longer able to live a good doggy life. We've decided after much painful discussion that the time has come.

    He had a good life.
He loved barking at the door and chasing cats and cars and sitting on gramma's lap watching tv.

    Aww..

If he's living in pain of any type, it's the best thing to do! I've had to put down a few of my best, after they've hit a certain age! It's said, but you'd want the same thing!

I'm so sorry. It's always painful to see a good friend go, and more so, I think, when you had to make that choice.

Cherish the memories, and I wish you all the best. My sincere condolances to you and your family.

Yeah, we kept hoping he would just pass quietly in his sleep, but that's not happening, so we had to make the decision.

It's sad to lose a cherished pet but I don't think you could ask for much more than nineteen years together. That's like eight thousand dog years.

Well, the deed is done. The vet was very nice about it, and let us sit with him privately while the anasthetic took, then he let me hold Geordie's head while he gave the injection. They said not to worry about anything else, they'll mail the bill. Usually they get quite evil if you leave without paying right then and there.

We're getting his ashes in a little jar for Peter's mom, since she had Geordie the longest.

He had a good life. Goodbye Geordie! *sniff*

Heart goes out to you - so sad. Had to do that once and never again! Just too much. Couldn't talk at the vet's and sat in the truck and cried for about an hour before I could drive. It was the best to do for the dog, but damn did that hurt. I really don't think I can have a pet again.

At the time, I just handed them a check. Not really sure if they filled it out. Never looked at the account for that.

19 is VERY old for a dog, and I know you gave him a WONDERFUL life. I guarentee he would THANK YOU if he was able to.

i understand you have to do what you have to do, and it really is in his best interest if it's his time. But I also know how painful this must be for you and my heart goes out to you. If there's ANYTHING i can do hit me up on icq.
