I think it really depends on the tattoo...I love mine but I will admit that I've gotten some mixed reviews on it over the years. I like to look at women both with and without tattoos... but I also like to look at women that are varied in a lot of other ways as well. Personally, if someone is going to have a tattoo, I like to see a really big one... one that you can see from across a dance floor or in a distance photo. I especially like 3/4 sleeves (which I'm going to get someday) and full back pieces. I love my tattoos and if I woke up tomorrow with clean, un-inked skin I would get them again (well, only if I also woke up with more than a dollar in my bank account).
Also, people don't always get tattoos to be "alternative". Many people tend to think that I'm gothic or punk because I have tattoos, but the people that inspired me to enjoy them were actually truck drivers I knew when I was younger (I worked for a logging company), and truck drivers are fairly non-alternative if you ask me. I didn't meet any people my age with tattoos until after I moved out and started clubbing.
I like tattoos (obviously) and I don't think they're any more "over done" than any other fashion or beauty treatment. Tons of women dye their hair red or blonde (I'm actually re-dying my hair right now) and that doesn't stop other women who like that same look from doing it. Even if everyone had tattoos I would still have mine (and probably more, since the price would likely go down if that many people were getting tattoos).
I don't usually consider topics like this a debate since everyone has their own opinion on what looks good (and thank goodness they do or porn would be boring) and it's not very likely that a worded statement from somebody else would change their mind, but I do enjoy reading other people's opinions (especially if they're well-written and open-minded, but the other kind are amusing as well).SIG TOO BIG!
