Depends on what you call "smart".
I graduated from UPenn, and many of my friends were book smart, but didn't have common sense.
I scored a 1540 on my SATs, and achieved an above average IQ which landed me in the gifted program in HS.
I'm probably not the smartest person on GFY, but one of them.

Most graduate programs require you to take the GRE. My roommate in college was extremely smart- summa cum laude, 4.0, president of the honor society for her program, etc. We both took it together and she tanked. Horribly. She ended up taking the MAT and doing much better. That's a straight analogy test and a lot of people do study for that one ahead of time. Any sort of intelligence test is only as good as it's reliability and validity, and it's surprising how lacking some of the commonly used mainstream tests, are.War National Damn Champions EagleComment
