    LENSMAN - GFY - Time for an upgrade !!

    GFY is in desperate need of an upgrade.

    I have taken this from email to board for a few reasons..

    #1 Like it or not gfy will be shit on if nothing is done , and someone may lose more than just face..

    #2 Your programmers seem to need to be hand fed information that should already be commonly known ( or just dont spend the time gfy deserves )

    #3 I love GFY and want to see a good future for it.

    Current open holes on GFY

    Several parse problems still exist.

    Forms handling is so unsecure its amazing someone * cough * hasn't posted using lensman's name yet..

    With the right combo as explained via email previously , in this thread or any thread there lies the ability to take anyones name that reads the thread, or change the sig , account details etc etc.. This is about as bad as it can get , can't think of much worse.

    The astonishing thing is from day1 if your techs had sat down for a full work day * yah right * and put some effort into it, they wouldn't have 90% of the problems they do..

    Now there could be several reasons gfy has chosen not to upgrade and do so little ( perhaps its the if it aint broke "yet" dont fix it mentality )

    But to get to the point, you guys make some great money from gfy , maybe you could put some back into a better front end.

    I dont agree that gfy needs more mods, it just needs more moderating..

                                                  I would go all custom, have a team of a few people ( or maybe 2 teams ) make a custom gfybb . Should take a week or so to make and a week to break in.

If they wouldnt hack in the first place there would be no problem. Smokey is creating a problem where there is no problem. One can steal something in a supermarket, its easy, but someone with some ethics knows he shouldnt do that and he doesnt. The fact that a door is open doesnt mean you need to enter it. And so far nobody does it but Smokey. Ive been on this board for 3 years and the first time ive seen problems with the security is the first day Smokey appeared.
