ive been reviewing/producing/promoting for 4+years.
the first 50 seconds of that track should be deleted. there is no reason for a rock song to have a 55 second intro. nothing like that will ever make it on a commercial radio.
you want to get right into things. if you must have an intro period to that song, limit it to 5-10 seconds.
a buddy of mine worked at emi doing things and told me a lot of the people who listen to and determine wether or not they like a band often listen to the first 30 seconds and make a decision there. youve got to capture the listener from the first few seconds, and that boring, repetitive, unexciting intro wont get you anywhere with a major label. suck in all the indie labels you want, but id cut the first minute out and start rocking right away.
id also not retire from doing your websites. when your band fails like 99% of other bands, then you may find yourself starting over with your site/s. id at least keep the traffic up on them...
