slinx, amsterdam doesn't give out new permits for canalboats, because they think it's already to full (on which i agree by the way)... so the only way to get your hand on a boat is buy an existing boat including permit. and those are pretty damn expensive indeed, because about anyone would love to live in the center of amsterdam.Comment

The variable speeds are never constant and you'll spend more time touching the platter to keep your beats in time than doing anything else. Plus, you'll never be able to scratch properly on them without the fuckers jumping.

Battuss, don't worry about what kind of tables you have. The look good enough. Most of us started on belt drive turntables so you are ahead of the pack. I bet you any amount of money I can rock a party a helluva lot better with belt drive turntables a broken headphone and no mixer than most people can with 1200's and everything else.
The art of DJ'ing isn't about the equipment, it's all about music selection, timing, blending and reading the crowd. Nothing else. Honestly, reading the crowd is most important.
I've trusted my sites to them for over a decade...
