    The Shii Muslims are required to pay 20% of their income to the clerics running the Mosques.

                                              Yeah many Jews (perhaps such as yourslef KRL) also sold up their homes and moved to Israel when the state was established. Many of these people also donated much of their money to the state of Israel at the same time. What is the difference between religion and nation? Both are used as forms of identity and nationalism, and as such collect money and establish communities based on that identity. These people don't necessarily see themselves as 'Iraqi's', but rather Muslims (of a particular type) first. Wave that flag oh patriot, and don't forget to pay your taxes.
