Dont Trust this HOST

Hi. I'm a relatively new webmaster. I just put up my first site SlippyFinger and I got hosting on April 27 from a place called Web750.com. Don't trust them.

Web750.com gave me a package which allowed for 30GB of transfer a month. However, once my site hit 5GB, they turned off PHP, and blocked my FTP access... rendering my site useless for a day. I contacted them via e-mail and they said it was because my PHP scripts were jeopardizing their system. My scripts ran three simple DB queries! Jesus! So I tried sending them a message to turn my site back on, and their help system (which ran on PHP) wouldn't work. Then I tried sending them e-mail... all bounces. They fucked up, and wouldn't admit it. I can't contact them to get my money back either. These guys are con artists.

In short, DON'T EVER USE web750.com as your hosting. They suck, and screwed me out of $50!

Bringer, I bought 5 months of hosting. That's why it cost $50.

And yes, I am a noob

However, I don't need new hosting... I got one from my friend who runs a business for free. We were on bad terms, but now that we are friends again, he gave me free hosting.

I don't understand how people can choose a company with a name like Web750.com there is no significance and they are so cheap they couldn't spend a couple hundred bucks on a decent domain. Are they part a of business awareness program? It amazes me that people choose just on price and looks, sorry but it's no wonder so many get burned.

Next time make your first judgment be based on professionalism your profits will thank me later.

This isn't just for hosting, but anything on the web.

By the way check out "auctions633.com" great site.. better then ebay

As a noob, I must say that they stated a 30 day money back gaurantee... but now I can't contact them. They're con-artists.

Thanks for all the replies guys... I found free hosting from my friend who runs a website company and has a reseller account. I'm allowed to do whatever I want on it.

I just thought that it was my duty to report scam artists and cheaters, like all adult webmasters should, so future noobs don't get screwed.

P.S. I like the word NOOB too... fun to say. I prefer OOF. It's what you say when someone gets you real good... like you were being hit in the stomach with a football or something.

They are just a EV1 reseller, probably a couple high school kids. They have a few links to sites on their main page for hosting resources, one lets you file complaints.. go file one, get the info out there that they are screwing people.

SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, then you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60.

If you're looking for hosting, best thing to do is see who all the "big guys" are using. Then narrow down your search from there by doing price comparisons and reputation searches on GFY.

Man when I was a noob I paid so much for hosting, then some jack ass hotlinked all my images and I got stuck with the biggest bill ever. Don't sweat it man, you will make mistakes we all have, hell I still make them its all learning. Stick with it and make money.

I use these guys and they are top notch, been with them for 8 months and no probs(knock on wood)!
