I live in Newport Beach, 1 block from sand. It is uncanny, but everytime I walk on the beach I think "what in the hell would I do if that ocean drained."
I never thought of it in such perspective. I have felt quakes on the coastline and thought nothing. Now if I feel even a tremor, I feel as though I have a decision to make.
When I first moved to California 7 years ago, I was fully aware of Tsunamis. Most people who surf or do a little extra reading on those affairs are. I found it astounding that most Californians (would / probably will) respond by telling you that Catalina and the set of Islands off of Ventura will break the Tsunami energy. This has apparently been on the news.
I always found this logic interesting. I mean, California is known for its heavy swells. I surf them. Somehow, those waves find our coastline
