Yup. FL has hurricanes. Cali has earthquakes. The midwest has tornados. In Canada, it's easy to say "Glad I don't live there!" because we so rarely have any kind of natural disaster, but even though you can dress for the snow, I bet most folks down south wouldn't trade a few weeks of hurricane season etc. for a few months of below zero temperatures.

Canada also hosted the worlds worst drought in recorded history a couple years ago that costed them a fortune.
Glaciers, snow melting from global warming causes flooding and when combined with population growth, the frequency of disasters are on the rise.
You guys just haven't noticed them yet. Florida and California are sprawling with people, end to end. We can't miss them.
