The final few were a joke. That 16 year old kid had a terrrible voice and hung in for the longest time because it was more of a popularity as opposed to talent contest.

Actually, according to statistics, more black households watch Idol than white. And as mentioned earlier, last time I checked Ruben is black.

Personally I find Latoya boring.. well.. not boring but not particularly exciting - she has picked up in the last few shows and she's growing on me after that streisand number last week, but I like Fantasia a hell of a lot more.

I must remember not to click on these threads, I forgot how late in the week it was and you've just had your show... thats twice i've known who gets kicked out beforehand.

Actually, I think the figure is that a higher PERCENTAGE of black households watch (and it frightens me that I even care to know this, but oh well).

But the only way racism could truly play a role would be if we were voting someone OFF. I think it simply boils down to the fact that the majority of voters are white teeny-boppers who can relate better to pretty pretty princess Diana and crybaby Jasmine than to a mature, self-confident WOMAN like LaToya or a quirky gal like Fantasia.

Hell, I'm white as the driven snow, and my fantasy final four was George, Jennifer, LaToya and Fantasia. But, I really don't care enough to vote. I figure the cream will rise to the top one way or another, and if the evil that is 19 Entertainment doesn't get a real talent like LaToya, all the better for her. At this point I almost hope my fave, Fantasia, goes next week. Let the puppetmasters have their plastic doll.

Criminy, look what they've done to their "winner", Ruben. And as far as I can tell, even first season's 3rd place Tamyra is doing better for herself than 19 is doing for Kelly.

AI is probably a good place for true talent to get some exposure, but a lousy place for the so-called winner to launch a career.

And I care about this way more than I want to. Off to shoot myself now...

I do watch the first couple of weeks with the aweful tryouts. the middle section of the show is a waste of time.
