So where are those who said that Sharon was an obstacle to peace just like Arafat?
I'm not saying that this cease fire will actually succeed in the long run for sure, but look at the facts... right after Arafat died, there are suddenly peace talks, the other side is actually doing SOMETHING to prevent terrorism... Sharon is INVITED to Egypt after a very long time of tension for the summit in Sharm El Sheikh and suddenly things seem better then they used to be...
again, I'm not saying things are perfect... Terrorist organisations are still doing their best to kill civilians, and the PEOPLE in gaza are in favor of Hammas and Islamic Jihad while Abu Mazen is believed to be a weak leader by many palestinians...
but I think what is happening these days is a full proof of the idiocy of those who said things like 'Arafat is a criminal and Sharon is not any better'... You shouldn't have anything to say now that the disengagement plan from gaza is about to start and negotiations are in process with the same Ariel Sharon, but with a new palestinian leader...
