Do your parents know you work in internet porn?

Out of respect for my poor mothers heart I have kept my mother at bay for 5 yrs now that I work for a Top producing hosting company in NYC called isprime in sales. LOL, I punished her enough thru out my 20's and did not have the heart and my dads comment back in 1999 "don't tell your fucking mother". She is heading out to do some more humanitarian missions this summer so as long as she can explain her only good son left does something good then its all good in the hood. What she does not know won't hurt her. right? I never force anything out of anybody just provide my services in sales. So does that make me a porn salesman? Not a bad title for class clown 1986, in the mix!!

My entire family knows both sides of what I do... the modeling end and the webmaster end.

We see them often enough they see me working all the time and realize how much goes into it and they see the fruits of the labor so they are very supportive

3 years ago, my mom was laid off from a job she worked at for 25 years. I softened the blow of letting her know what I do by offering her to take charge of our customer support department, at a higher starting salary than she was making before.

She calls me a "cyber-pimp"

I don't think this is a big issue for EU webmasters. I asked my dad before venturing into this business if he thought I should go for it and both him and my mother said that if I could make a living out of it, why not.

On the other hand, I don't tell new people I meet, I just tell them a half truth saying I create web pages...

My brother and sister both know exactly what I do and are very proud of me. (I don't talk to anyone else in my fam, so it doesn't matter). As for Stewie's family... no one knows, but they are beginning to suspect things.

My parents now know. I gradually brought them into it saying I did some promotions for Playboy, then some lesbian stuff and then the shocker of everything else. They're fine with it knowing that this business pays the bills and then some

my mother has known for a long time (parents are divorced) so I don't talk to my real father all that often. He called to wish me a happy birthday this year and my sister had picked up the other phone at the same time I did. When I said hello, my father paused, and I said Hello? he said "Christina?" My dad has known since the beginning. I was flat broke and in college, I was so broke and in debt that I was close to moving back home, my dad was running out of money to help me with too so things were really rough. We tried putting together some ideas of how I could start making money again and I said "why not porn?" So I started building sites and off I went. Now my dad borrows money from me instead. I really wouldn't mind getting him into the business, helping me out with projects, but he only has 10 years left at his job and he can retire with a real good pension. It really wouldn't be worth the risk.

My mom on the other hand has no clue, though she may be suspicious, I have no idea. I don't think she would really care, she just has a big mouth and I don't want certain people finding out, nor do I want everybody bothering me about it. She was bugging me for a while about what I do, so I just said that I do Internet marketing and have signed NDA's so I can't tell her what companies I'm working with. She hasn't bothered me yet.

i told my dad years ago, he's alot easier to talk to and his response was "hey, whatever makes ya happy & makes the money!"

i told my mom last year, and she took it better than i thought she would, acutally. the only thing she was disappointed in was the fact that i would never go to college (which isnt true; i wanna take 5 classes to get my Web Design certificate). but other than that, she was okay with it.

I let my parents know what I do, right off the bat. They are both very supportive. I think they are both very relieved that I didn't get involved in the content end of things, though. Every now and then they call and ask for the URLs of some good sites to check out. ;)

I didn't tell my mom-in-law right away, as she is very religious. She deals with it fine, although she seems to think I promote artisic nudes, not hardcore. Don't know where she got that idea, but I'm not going to correct her on it.

Both of my parents know what I do. Dad just can't get the whole concept of "phone sex" and my mother does all the payroll, accounting etc...so it worked out good for me. I've always been VERY open with my parents...even if I tried a drug or something, I would always talk to my mom about that stuff. =)

They both know I work VERY hard, and they accept it. They're proud of me, and tell me that =)
