          you would talk to each individual record company and see what kind of cut they wanted....but if you weren't guaranteeing them millions of dollars a year in sales you can pretty much say fuck it now

                              The only way you can compete is with price. If you're willing to front the cash and work on slim margins or loss leaders, it may be possible to steal some of their customers.
