It was written my H. G. Wells and broadcast m\by Orson Wells via radio in 1938 and set a good portian of the country in to a panic. Many thought we were actually being invaded since it was broadcast as an actul new event. It's a great story, not only the story itself, but the aftermath of its braodcast.

I have heard about the "famous radio broadcast" but I do not know the whole story by HG Wells.
