    Congress targets cell phone camera voyeurs

    They want to make laws against cell phone camera voyeurism. If the law passes you can get a prison sentence for taking an upskirt pic in public.

          How do you think this will effect someone who is publishing these pics, not taking them, on a website devoted to such stuff?

              I imagine it would make sites like that illegal. Better to not let the law get that far.

                  sucks ass.. I've been putting together a good cell picture site and was about to open it for submissions. Guess I just put up canned content and wait it out to see what happens.

                          Ummm I do not think the freedom part covers someone putting a cam under your skirt when you are not looking. It is easy enough to stage this type of content anyways.

                              Heh. Yah, there needs to be a happy medium. But technically, when you're in public, you can't expect the same level of privacy as when you're at home. Legally, you can be photographed in public without your knowledge or consent (the governement does it all the time). My advice: wear panties, avoid dresses if you care.

                                  I know the technicals of it. Fair game in public ect. The happy medium is what does need to be fixed. If your bending over and your panties show and someone takes a picture so be it. Now if your standing in line and someone places a camera under your dress and takes a picture that should be illegal.

                                      I think it's already illegal without making any additional laws though. I'm pretty sure it's illegal to stick your hand under a stranger's dress.

                                          In public, if you were walking down the street and you stuck your head up under a ladie's skirt .. You'd probably not only get beaten but arressted.

                                          How is it any different taking a picture? Expectation of privacy should be the same.

                                                      Is the congressional author of this bill suggesting that it is currently legal to take upskirt pictures with a normal camera?

                                                      This is a perfect example of cream puff bills that waste taxpayer money.

                                                                      one way i know to get upskirts is put a video camera into a shopping bag facing upwards... disguise any LED's w/ black tape, bundle the camera w/ assorted material to hide its presense as best you can. if you see a likely target for some upskirt lovin' standing about, get next to her and set the bag down as you fumble for a mobile phone or something, use one foot to scoot the bag closer to your target, but try to be *subtle* at this stage, you can get caught since a powered-up camera in a bag is kind of hard to explain to mall security...

                                                                      if you really want to get technical w/ this go the full "henjin" japanese route... mount a pinhole camera in the toe of a shoe pointing upward w/ a small DVcam in your pocket, thats the safest method (but more expensive)..
